“Rooted in Christ, built up in faith.” Colossians 2:6-7

Providing you with a safe space to grow.

Rooted Willows provides Christ-centered, clinically informed biblical counseling for women, children, and marriages, guiding them through trials with counsel grounded in God’s Word, so they may be ‘like a tree planted by streams of water…whose leaf does not wither’ (Psalm 1:3) and ‘rooted by the water, not fearing when heat comes’ (Jeremiah 17:8).

Rooted Willows believes in the sufficiency of scripture to help us in our struggles, while balancing the real and consequential impacts that physical, mental and emotional ailments have on the body and mind. While not secular psychotherapy, Rooted Willows provides a holistic, biblical perspective on mental health care and provides clinically informed and Christ-centred counselling to help root you in God’s love and truth and provide you with the tools and care you need to be rooted in Him in all seasons.

What does a typical session with Rooted Willows look like?

A typical session is 50 minutes long, and is focused on helping the client find healing and help in their current season. Sometimes this looks like trauma work, sometimes its bible reading and sometimes its more concentrated skill learning; it all depends on what a client needs.

A session, though, will always begin and end in prayer and both look inward at the client’s current struggles, and outward by applying Christ-centred and clinically informed care to the current issue, giving tools that the client can use in everyday life.

FAQs

  • Biblical counselling is different from traditional psychotherapy in that it is rooted in Scripture as the ultimate authority and source of hope, rather than in psychological theories. While psychotherapy often focuses on symptom relief, coping strategies, and personal well-being using clinical methods, biblical counselling helps individuals view their struggles through the lens of God’s Word and points them to Christ as the ultimate healer. The goal is not only comfort in the midst of life’s challenges, but also lasting heart transformation and growth in Christlikeness, offering hope that is deeper than circumstances.

  • Rooted Willows specializes in helping Christian women who are facing life struggles and need biblical, clinically-informed support. This may look like dealing with life transitions and sudden changes, grief, emotional or mental challenges or any variety of struggles. Feel free to reach out if you think you may benefit from biblical counselling.

  • This depends on each client and each client’s needs. Your counsellor will work with you to determine the number of sessions recommended, although your total investment is often not known at the onset of counselling. That said, the goal is always to provide long-lasting skills and tools to be able to transfer what is learned in the counselling office to your own life.

  • A 50-minute session is $95.00 CAD, and is subject to change if necessary. We do not accept insurance. If cost is an issue, please reach out to see if there is a sliding scale spot available. Please also reach out to your local church to see if they would be willing to offset costs.
